Step 5: Once installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.

 

Method#3: Adding the plugin via FTP  

 

Step 1: Download the required plugin as a .zip file from the WordPress directory or a third-party website. Ensure the third-party plugin developer is legitimate, else your website can easily be hacked. 

Step 2: Extract (unzip) the plugin file at the desired location, usually on the Desktop. The unzipped folder appears with the same name as the .zip file.

Step 3: Connect the WP website to the server via an FTP client to transfer files. 

Step 4: Launch the FTP client to connect your website, with a username and password. Your hosting provider will send you the login credentials.

Step 5: Open the  WordPress file directory and navigate to the wp-content folder for plugins, and click to open it.  

Step 6: Upload the unzipped plugin folder into the wp-content folder.

Step 7: Return to the WP dashboard, and choose Plugins > Installed Plugins. Search the new plugin and click Activate.

Method#1: From the WP dashboard

 

Select the “Reset All User Password” button from the WP dashboard to reset the login credentials of all users. You can set custom filters (‘Filter’ icon) to display unique meta keys for users, and based on this filter you can the set password of a specific user group.

Once the password is reset, the administrator sends a custom email to all users containing 8 character long auto-generated password. The mail can be personalized with the user’s name by using the placeholders in the message body. Users can generate a new password with the reset link shared in the email.

Another interesting feature of this plugin is the “Test mode”. It allows the administrator to send password reset links exclusively to a specific email id and not to the entire user group. Hence, it saves effort and time for the admin.

Method#2: Through WP CLI

Use the role, custom fields, and user id to reset the password through the command line on the WP-CLI screen.

Use the Exclude Valid Reset Link Users filter to display custom settings to be viewed by the user while resetting the password. Further, an expiry time to the password reset link can be established via this feature. By default, the time is 1 day.
